MADISON - Patricia Lee Mecum, age 78, of Madison, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on Jan. 27, 1946, in Long Beach, Calif., the daughter of Eldridge and Frances (Wilabe) Henick.
Patricia graduated from Buena Park High School in 1964. She met her future husband at Disneyland and was united in marriage to Marion Mecum on Sept. 25, 1966, in Fullerton, Calif. She worked as a secretary for the UW Physical Therapy for 27 years, retiring in 2017.
Patricia enjoyed knitting, flower gardening, reading and doing puzzles.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Marlene Mecum; son, Martin (Kim) Mecum; eight grandchildren, Brandyn Mecum, Kyle (Keira) Mikkelson, Amber Webb, Sean Webb, Ivan Mecum, Audra Mecum, Kenzie Mecum and Macyn Mecum; great-grandchildren, Easton Mikkelson and Bailey Mikkelson; and two sisters, Hazel and Kathy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion; parents, Eldridge and Frances; and sister, Suzan.
A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held at VFW POST NO. 7591, 301 Cottage Grove Road, Madison, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
