Madison - Karen Marie Attewell, age 67, of Madison, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, at home. She was born on May 26, 1956, in Madison.
Karen graduated from Madison East High School, class of 1974. She married Gregory Attewell on Nov. 18, 1994, in Madison.
Karen's love for Elvis Presley's music and her enthusiasm for drama TV shows, American Idol and The Voice, brought her joy and entertainment. An avid sports fan, Karen enjoyed any opportunity to watch the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers football. Karen possessed a generous heart and was looked up to as the matriarch of her family.
Karen is survived by her husband, Gregory; two daughters, Amanda and Jennifer; three brothers, Jeff (Donna), Gary (Nancy) and Jesse; three sisters, Cathy (John), Sharon (Monte) and Cindy; mother-in-law, Fay; brother-in-law, Rick (Barb); as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher; parents, Lois and Gordon; two brothers, Steven and Danny; and father-in-law, Rich.
A Funeral Service will be held at Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Care, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11:00 am on Wednesday March 27, 2024, with Rev. Katya Ouchakof presiding. A luncheon will follow. Burial will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Care from 10:00 am until the time of service on Wednesday.
