MCFARLAND - Kent Derke, age 55, of McFarland, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. He was born on Nov. 11, 1968, in Stoughton, the son of Dennis and Judith (Sandvig) Derke.
Kent graduated from Stoughton High School. He worked as a welder mechanic at Iron Man.
Kent was most comfortable in his own space and loved the companionship of dogs. He loved listening to records and other music, especially 80s rock bands. He liked to read autobiographies and watch documentaries. He was creative and found solace in drawing. Kent loved spending time with his nieces and they all shared a love for breakfast pizza.
Kent is survived by his father, Dennis; brother, Kyle (Debra) Derke; three nieces, Megan (Anish) Derke, Nicole Derke and Paige (Mitch) Galles; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
