Obituary

MADISON- Cassandra L. Ruffin, age 76, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at home. She was born on Nov. 1, 1947, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Atrel Sr. and Laura Jane “Honey” (nee: Rhodes) Howard.


Cassandra graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in 1965 and The Ohio State University in 2012. She worked as a Respiratory Therapist, where she helped to save countless lives with her talents. Cassandra will be remembered for her kind and helping heart; always having the desire to help those in need.


Cassandra was very crafty and enjoyed painting and card making. She was also an avid reader and loved cooking and playing the piano and harmonica.


Cassandra is survived by her daughter, Pilar Ruffin; son, Arthur (Melissa) Ruffin Jr.; five grandchildren, Zain Ruffin, Aralyn Ruffin, Sophia Belongea, Sabrina “Bena” Kaminski and Marissa “Pookie” Kaminski; and brothers, Ret. General James (Alice) Howard and Atrel (Roberta) Howard Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Atrel Sr. and Laura; and sister, Judy Howard.


Cassandra’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Agrace HospiceCare for the kind and compassionate care they gave her.
