Darlene Marie Schuett

JANESVILLE - Darlene Marie Schuett, age 87, of Janesville, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 5, 2025. She was born on May 2, 1937, in Superior, the daughter of Joseph and Emerald (Dalbec) Starkey.

Darlene graduated from Central High School in Madison, Wis. She was united in marriage to Carl Schuett in May of 1966 and together they were blessed with four daughters.

Darlene was a saint; she was tasked with raising four daughters. She was incredibly family-oriented and cared so much about her grandkids and great-grandkids. Darlene was an avid thrifter and enjoyed finding good deals at garage sales. She loved all things related to cooking whether it was actually cooking, reading recipes, or watching cooking shows. In her free time, she would often be found reading magazines and drinking her favorite iced tea.

Darlene is survived by her daughters, Sandy Hosely, Terri Lynn Schuett, Darcy Ann (Troy) Smart and Tammy (Timothy Weger) Everson; five grandsons, Aaron (Alissa) Simmons, Vaughn (Rita) Smart, Joseph (Valerie) Seefeldt, Bryan (Denita) Everson and Tucker Everson; four granddaughters, Brittney (Ken) Dutz, Shannon Hosely, Crystal (Drake Gould) Seefeldt and Dakota Everson; and nine great-grandchildren, Henry Simmons, Maddux Simmons, Kirsten Dutz, Daisy Gould, Harrison Gould, Carly Seefeldt, Cooper Hosely, Hunter Hosely and Everett Rosenow. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; parents, Joseph and Emerald; great-granddaughter, Jordyn; brother, Ronald Starkey; and sister-in-law, Delores Starkey.

A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
