I am so sorry for the loss of Lee. He was a very handsome man. He & Stevie made a wonderful couple. You don't know how many times I have thought of you through the years. You both worked hard & Blessed to have so many happy years together traveling. May all of your memories comfort you. Stevie remembering you working for the Veterans of Foreign Wars headquarters. In sympathy & love, Sue Lawrence

So sorry to read that Lee has passed. I knew him from the Forest Products Laboratory when I was a young research engineer in the early 1990's, and he was already consulting. I remember him always having a command of the issues, and of the room. A true class act who left a real mark on the wood products industry.

I met Lee when he joined the Madison PGA (Poorest Golfers Around). He was the best joke teller by far. What made it better was his great laugh when he told a joke.
We had many great days on the course and especially on the 19t hole afterward. Lee will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

It was such a joy to have Lee as my colleague at FPL, and as my friend after his retirement. He was always helpful when I had research questions and eagerly shared his expertise on wood preservation. His infamous “fungus from hell” continues to be a focus of wood preservation research at FPL today. I enjoyed visiting with him and Stevie at FPL parties for many years after his retirement. I will miss his hugs and his stories.

Lee and I golfed together for many years with the local PGA gang (Poorest Golfers Around). His game generally matched mine in heartache and lament, so we often wound up together in the "C-flght" foursome, hacking our way around the course. The golf was typically forgettable, but the conversation and geniality was anything but. Most of it was jokery, but much was about life in general, and how to live life. I profited by this, and I profited by knowing and being around Lee. He was a good man, and I join with so many others in saying that the world is poorer for no longer having him with us.
Rest in peace, Lee.
