Obituary

STOUGHTON / EDGERTON - Pamela Sue Buckley, age 62, of Edgerton, Wis., passed away peacefully at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, surrounded by family, on Feb. 17, 2024, following a hard-fought battle with ovarian cancer. Pam was born in Stoughton, Wis., on March 3, 1961, to Dean and Joyce (Strandlie) Buckley.

Pam graduated from Stoughton High School in 1979. She worked most recently for many years for Ho-Chunk Casino in Madison. You may have also met her while working at some local places like Stoughton Hospital, Stoughton Wal-Mart, or bartending at Sam’s Den or Good Times in Stoughton, as well as various part-time jobs that kept her busy.

Pam encountered many struggles during her life, but always found a way to persevere, including four previous bouts with various types of cancer.  She enjoyed the simple things in life, especially crafting, fishing, camping, or just hanging out with family and friends.  She loved her family and took great pleasure in watching her grandsons, nieces and nephews grow up.

Pam is survived by her mother, Joyce Buckley; her children, Jennifer (Craig) Curry and Marissa (Dave) Harrison; her grandchildren, Matthew (Jamie) Curry, Ryan Curry (Natalie Nelson) and Ty Harrison; her sister, Michelle Flisram (Dave Sanderson); nieces and nephews, Kellie, Brandon, Keiffer and Teagan Flisram; and all her granddogs, who also had a special place in her heart. Pam was preceded in death by her father, Dean Buckley; grandmother, Leona Ehle; grandfather, John Strandlie; aunt, Patricia Frank; and uncle, Kendall Strandlie.

Pam’s family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Agrace HospiceCare (Fitchburg and Home Care) for the excellent and compassionate care she received.

A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Hwy 51 N. at Jackson St., Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Friday Feb. 23, 2024. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. There will be a luncheon and celebration following the service at STOUGHTON VFW (downstairs), 200 Veterans Road, Stoughton.

Pam would encourage everyone to never miss the opportunity to pet a friendly dog, take the time to enjoy life (including all the small things), and to always tell your family and friends that you love them.

Pam, you were always a great friend!! We aways had a great time whenever we were together, the ghost hunts we were on, taking care of people after the tornado, we stayed up the whole night helping people, camping fun, oh, and I will never forget the morning you picked me up in a limo, me still in my nighty, you made me walk into Kwik Trip to buy lottery tickets, I still laugh about that one, and karaoke nights. We were a great team at anything we did together!! I will miss you forever. Sending loving thoughts to all of Pam's family. My heart goes out to all of you.

You will be missed Pammy Sue, you fought a hard tough battle. You were a caring loving person with a heart of gold. I'll miss all the fun we had going to bingo, quarter auctions, listening to bands and dancing the night away but I'll always cherish the memories. Love you! Carolyn

I remember the last time I saw Pam, Dan and I were delivering Thanksgiving meals for Utica, and we got Pam and Joyce. I went to the door, and her big smile greeted me and invited me in. She thanked us for the delivery and gave me one of her gnomes that she had made. It will have more meaning now that she has passed. Fly high Pam and continue to smile- Love Dan and Tami Gallagher
