Obituary
I was born in Stoughton, WI, on Sept. 17, 1971, the fourth child born to Harry Lynn Yvisaker and Jerri Lynn (Berndt) Ylvisaker. Did you catch the middle name repetitions? Yup. I also had two older sisters, Shelley Lynn Ylvisaker and Vicki Lynn Ylvisaker. My folks snuck in one older brother too, Jon David Ylvisaker. My dad said there was no way his son's middle name was going to be Lynn! Sadly, my dad and siblings all predeceased me. But happily, along the way l picked up a couple of more brothers - Tim and Jason Heinzeroth, each of which is still going strong.
In addition to my two little brothers, I literally grew up with three of my cousins, Bryce, Joe, and Jon Berndt. My Mom was their babysitter so there was no escaping them! I have lots of fond memories of my life growing up with my brothers and cousins - and lots of stories that can't be told here!
I graduated from Stoughton High School in 1989 and later continued my education by graduating from Southwest Texas State University. I joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in the US, Cuba, and deployed to the Gulf War, proudly serving for 14 years with the rank of Staff Sergeant. After my discharge I returned to Stoughton and remained until my recent passing on Feb. 18, 2024, due to complications from several medical issues that followed me after my service in the Air Force.
To know me was a blend of crazy, funny, witty, serious, and downright perplexing at times! Did you know that I loved to write poetry? Probably very surprising for some of you to be reading that here for the first time. But everyone knows how much I loved my kittens, Peanut and Sarge. They brought me such great comfort and joy.
So........ I came, I saw, and I left. Sadly, I leave behind my mother, Jerri; brothers, Tim and Jason; aunts and uncles, Kathy Olson, Peggy and Craig Thompson, Tim and Sandy Berndt, and Jeanne and Paul Wolfe; lots of cousins; and my kittens.
Until we meet again.......l loved you all.
