OREGON / Fitchburg - Larry Eldon Neath, age 73, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, at home with his wife by his side. He was born on Oct. 26, 1950, in Madison, Wis., the son of Eldon and Catherine (Berman) Neath.
Larry lived his whole life in the Oregon / Fitchburg area and graduated from Oregon High School in 1969. He married Sarita Novara on May 22, 1976.
Larry was parts manager for Lappley Chevrolet in Oregon, then at Symdon Chevrolet in Evansville before retiring in 2011. Larry had a passion for anything with a motor and he restored and owned several classic and sports cars. After his retirement he was able to enjoy another passion of his - horses. He traveled and worked with his friends, Keith Kramer and Mike Barry, who owned horse stables. Larry loved traveling to Arizona to visit family, taking cruises, and trips to Door County.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Sarita; brother, Rick (Denise) Neath; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Neath, JoJean Novara, Darcy Novara and Julie Hagen (Mike Mahnke); nephews, Andy Neath (Christina), Tyler Halloran and Bret Hagen; nieces, Catie Sondrol (Josh), Amanda Halloran and Kayla Miller (Riley); and extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon, Catherine, and Elsie Neath; brother, Gerald Neath; and parents-in-law, Ernie and Mary Lou Novara.
A celebration of life will be held at Gunderson Oregon Funeral and Cremation Care, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
