Obituary

MARSHALL - Gorden “Gordy” Pellett, age 76, of Marshall, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024. He was born on Feb. 19, 1947, in Richland Center, the son of Gerald and Carol (Hockenberry) Pellett and was the youngest of five children.

Gordy attended Richland Center Elementary and Middle Schools. The family moved to Madison in 1958, where he graduated from East High School in 1965.  Gordy enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was deployed to Vietnam, and then San Francisco until he was honorably discharged in 1971. He returned back to Madison where he was a mechanic, and worked several years for Mack until he retired in 2019.

Gordy lived in Madison most of his life until a few years ago when he moved to Marshall. His family was so important to him, attending every family gathering possible. He enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Lake Waubesa back in the day and playing Euchre.  His dogs were his family as well, and he always had one by his side.  He also loved riding his motorcycle every chance he got. He will be greatly missed by all.

Gorden is survived by his sister, Madelyn Mecum Severson of Cottage Grove; brother, Francis “Whitey” Pellett of Waunakee; and brother, Bernard Pellett of Fall River; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Donald Pellett.

Private services will be held.

Gordy walked his dog, Arrow, everyday past our house and Arrow always stopped at the driveway for her treat. We would chat everyday. So very sorry to the family for your loss. Jean and Larry Gladem

So sorry to hear Gordy has left this dimension. Lost touch with him in these last years but have many wonderful memories…Anchor Inn, rides on his cycle, him letting me drive his red Mustang “the Rocket”, his sarcastic sense of humor. He was a very good friend to me. Condolences to his family and all of us who knew and loved him. Joni Doll Schultz

We cared about Gordy a lot. He lived 2 houses from us he was a very sweet man, he would come out and see Tinny (our dog) everytime I walked her. Her and Arrow were great friends as well. I remember making him a Thanksgiving dinner that we took to him he was very appreciative of it and he loved watching our kids grow up, he always asked about them and always made sure we were okay. We will deeply miss him. Fly high Gordy. Love, The Browne Family
