MIDDLETON - William R. “Bill” Briggs, age 76, of Middleton, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital from a massive stroke. He was born on Feb. 13, 1947, in Richland Center, Wis., the son of Richard Briggs and Lois Barry.
Bill graduated from Stoughton High School in 1965. He married Janet Wachendorf in 1971 in Madison. He worked as a Licensed Plumber for Briggs Plumbing and other companies until retiring. Bill was a member of Wisconsin Plumbers Local No. 75.
He enjoyed deer, pheasant and duck hunting. Bill was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. He loved doing crossword and sudoku puzzles, gardening and yard work.
Bill is survived by his wife, Janet, of 53 years; daughter, Denise (Tom Rabbach) Briggs; two brothers, Robert "Reb" Briggs and Doug (Lana) Briggs; niece, Ashley Briggs; and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Darin Briggs.
