Madison - Helen C. Chin, age 84, of Madison, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, at Oakwood East Meadows.
Born on Dec. 3, 1939, in Shandong Province, China to Shu Chuan Yang and Shu Fen Li Yang, Helen's life was a testament to the power of nurturing relationships and the simple joys of life. She married Peter Chin on Nov. 30, 1963, in Taipei, Taiwan.
Helen’s role as a loving grandmother was cherished. Her presence was a gentle guide in the lives of her grandchildren. Helen's kitchen was a place of warmth and delicious memories, a space where family gathered and laughter was shared. Her passion for cooking was matched by her love for gardening, which highlighted her nurturing spirit. She lived an active life and walked miles every day. Helen's skill in playing mahjong, coupled with her impeccable dictation in the Chinese language, spoke volumes of her dedication to her heritage and her talent for precise expression. She was a dedicated member of her church group where she formed lasting bonds.
Helen is survived by her two sons, Robert (Debra) Chin and Mark (Lynn) Chin; three grandchildren, Laura Chin, Nicholas (Christina) Chin and Daniel Chin; sister, Margaret (Sam) Chang; brother, Chung "C.S." (Sue Pai) Yang; sister-in-law, Lina Yang; brother-in-law, Eric (Jennifer) Chin; along with many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Peter Chin; parents; and brother, Charlie Yang.
Helen will be laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary in Bonita, Calif.
