FITCHBURG - Wayne Norris Pflieger, age 80, of Fitchburg, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on Oct. 30, 1943, in Columbus, Ga., the son of Clarence Pflieger and Lorraine (Muhlig) Pflieger.
Wayne graduated from Kelvyn Park High School in Chicago in 1962. He proudly served his country by serving in the U.S. Army, something he was proud of. He married Gina Petrucci on Jan. 18, 2003. Prior to retirement, Wayne worked as a truck driver for United Express.
Wayne was a big fan of the Chicago Bears, enjoyed playing online poker, and was a jokester with a great sense of humor. He liked to tell people he was “strong as a bull!”
Wayne is survived by his wife Gina; son, Matthew Wayne Pflieger; daughter, Tiffany Marie Pflieger; sister, Penny Marotta; nephews, Sean Smith, Phillip Daniel Marotta and Ryan Bax; and niece, Deborah A. Schwan. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandi Lee Smith; and son, Joseph "Joey" Wayne Pflieger.
