Mary Ellen loved camping at state parks when the kids were younger. The family took many trips to Florida and other warm weather destinations over the years. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing cards. She loved getting together with her women’s breakfast group, meeting up for book clubs, and going shopping with family or friends. Mary Ellen was a great listener and counselor for her family and friends and was admired for her loyalty, positivity, strength and unconditional love. She had meticulous style, was an amazing host and infused fun into every get together.

Dear Mike, Michelle and Marc, Jon and I send our deepest sympathy. We are so sorry for your loss. How quickly the time has flown from the days of your biking along with Scott and Lynn to the Monona swimming pool in the wee hours of the morning or playing tag in the back yards at night. Your Mom like all our fun memories, will be missed. Jon and Ingrid Hanson

Mike & family, I can hardly see to type this through my tears. I am so saddened to hear about Mary. Her & I were best friends all through grade school. We spent many nights sleeping at each others houses. So many memories! I am currently in Arizona until the end of April, with my husband, Ron Young so will not be able to attend the funeral. My heart goes out to all of you. Jeanne (Hannifan) Young
