STOUGHTON - Elaine Irene Grady, age 81, of Stoughton, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at her home in Vennevoll. She was born on April 11, 1943, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Glen and Genevieve Brandt. Elaine grew up in the Edward’s Park area of McFarland where her parents, aunt and uncle and grandparents ran a family business including a grocery store, bar and dance hall.
Elaine lived more than five decades in Fort Atkinson with her late husband, Ron Grady, where she raised four children and then cared for many of her grandchildren so their parents could work. One of her favorite jobs outside of the home was working in physical therapy as an aide.
She enjoyed traveling, visiting her children and grandchildren and spent many Octobers in Florida with her husband. Faith was important to Elaine. She enjoyed going to Bible studies and church services. She liked exercising with different exercise groups and loved reading.
Elaine is survived by her son, Todd (Eva) Grady; daughter, Teri (Dave) Furlow; sons, Troy (Linda) Grady and Trent (Kristin) Grady; grandchildren, Alex Furlow, Abbi Furlow, Anna (David) Grady, Camilla, Arden, Bryce, Cameron, Andrew, Benjamin and Owen; three great-grandchildren, Adam, Ellen and Ida; sisters, Gwen Haugen, Jo Ann (Bob) LaHaie, Fern (Bruce) Thompson and Audrey Brandt; brother, Jack (Cindy) Brandt; and in-laws, Steve (Judy) Grady; Karen (Louie) Coleman and Carol Schoenbeck, all of Stoughton; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Grady; parents, Glen and Genevieve Brandt; and in-laws, Harold and Valera Calder and Frankwood Grady.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Highway 51 N. at Jackson St., Stoughton, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. A graveside service at McFarland Cemetery will follow the memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
