We will always remember Rick's smile and zest for life. It did not take long after we first met that we would call him our friend. We had a common interest -fishing. I have fond memories of our time at Lake of the Woods, Devils Lake N.D and fishing/boating on the Mississippi River. Rick's devotion and love for his family and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was an inspiration to many. Joie and I will miss Rick but we are comforted knowing he is in a better place and we will meet again. God Bless - Our deepest sympathy, love and prayers.

To Rick's family and dear friends, I got to know Rick and Cheryl in the late 1980's through the mid 90's. We were neighbors, and l watched Ricky and Joe grow as youngsters. Rick's family was exciting to watch as my wife and I had not yet had children of our own. Their playing and laughing in the yard was fun to watch. Seeing Rick and Cheryl's interaction with their sons was a learning experience for us. We could see the love that was shared as a family. Rick enjoyed the outdoors. Fishing, hunting and snowmobiling with myself, and friends. His father passed this love of the outdoors on to Rick, and he enjoyed the experiences. His business savy and success we heard stories of gained him the nickname Slick, which a neighbor coined him with. Rick's sense of humor rolled with it, and that's another quality I liked about him. He could take a joke. We lived in that kind of neighborhood where a sense of humor was important. Rick and I stayed in touch once he and his family ventured from Savage to other parts of Minnesota, and then moving back to Packer country! Once a cheesehead... We would talk of the good times, and the family dynamics of present day. I always enjoyed our conversations. In our last phone call, it saddened me to hear that his health was not there, and hoped that God could reverse his health issues. I was saddened to hear that he passed Friday, but hold hope to see him again and refresh our friendship. I have a feeling that God has cast him into a great fishing lake, introduced him to an endless field to hunt, and long snowmobile trail to travel. I'll remember the fun memories Rick, and share some stories about you that will bring a smile and laughter to those who hear them. Thanks for touching my soul with your passion and zest for life my friend. Heaven is the perfect vantage point to keep an eye on family and loved ones, which I know Rick will do! Rest in peace my friend! My condolences to Cheryl, Rick, Joe and immediate and extended family and friends. God bless you and keep you close to Him.
