MADISON - Darlene Marie White, age 88, of Madison, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at SSM Health-St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on November 24, 1937, in Madison, the daughter of Herman and Laura (Schuetz) Ring.
Darlene graduated from East High School in 1955. She was united in marriage to Davey White on June 6, 1959. She worked as a secretary for UW-Madison for 24 years, finally retiring in 2004.
Darlene grew up in Madison and lived a life filled with energy and enthusiasm and was a longtime member of St. Dennis Catholic Church (Queen of Apostles). She was an avid golfer, bowler, and fast-pitch softball player, and spent her entire life enjoying the sports she loved, proudly achieving a high bowling score of 700. Darlene was a true go-getter and had a gift for bringing people together and took great joy in organizing the leagues and groups she was part of. She also cherished time with friends, especially gathering for board games.
Darlene is survived by her sons, Darrell White, Darin White, and Daniel White; granddaughter, Gianna White; and companion, Fredrick Perry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Davey; parents, Herman and Laura; brothers, Richard Ring, Donald Ring and Russell Ring; and sister, Anita Ballweg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at QUEEN OF APOSTLES PARISH, ST. DENNIS CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, with Father Michael Tarigopula presiding. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday.
