Obituary

MADISON - Sandra K. Moore, age 77, of Madison, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023, at Meriter Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on Oct. 2, 1946, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Russell and Rocille “Rosie” Hainstock.


Sandy graduated from Central High School in the class of 1964. She was united in marriage to Gary Moore on April 23, 1966.


Sandy enjoyed being a homemaker, and loved working in her flower garden and her herb garden. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards and she especially loved time spent with her grandchildren.


Sandy is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Ted) Larson; son, Ken Moore; grandchildren, Kayla "Punky" Benisch, Hannah (fiancé James Lloyd) Benisch, Taylor Moore and Hunter Moore; sister-in-law, Peggy (Gus) Schaper; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary Moore; and brothers-in-law, Jerry (Karen) Moore and Mike Moore.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date. A special thank you to the staff at Meriter Hospital for the loving care they provided to Sandy.
