Obituary
MADISON - Kathleen R. Boldon, age 74, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2023, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on Dec. 13, 1949, in Sparta, Wis., the daughter of Donald and Marian (Hall) Protz.
Kathie graduated from Tomah High School in 1968. She worked as a claims specialist for WPS for over 20 years and later for the Capital Times for over 10 years, retiring in 2017.
Kathie had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. In her youth, she rode horses competitively, earning many trophies and ribbons barrel racing! Kathie cared for animals deeply and the squirrels that gathered at her back porch for corn on the cob and peanuts thought so as well. She always had a feline friend and was the most dedicated and loving owner a cat could ever want. Kathie was very into politics and was always ready to let people know how she felt about her position. She was extremely passionate about being environmentally conscious and did what she could to make a difference. While she was not fond of cold weather, Kathie was always the “cool chic.”
Kathie is survived by her two sons, Brian (Lori ) Boldon and Nicolas (Cheri) Boldon; five grandchildren, Kaela Boldon, Sydney Boldon, Emily Boldon, Natalie Boldon and Morgan Hansen; two great-grandchildren, Anayah Boldon and Nalani Boldon; two sisters, Amelia (Jim) Protz-Walker and Sarah Protz; niece, Trina Protz; nephews, Kelly and Corey; and life-long friend, Scott Capper. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Marian; and sister, Nancy Protz.
A Celebration of Kathie’s life will be held in the summer of 2024
