Obituary
MAZOMANIE - Patricia A. “Patty” Wallace, age 79, of Mazomanie, died at home on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023. Patty was born in Washington, Ind., on Jan. 18, 1944, the daughter of the late Ira and Betty Jo Horrall. She graduated from Washington High School on May 25, 1962. Following high school, Patty was trained at the Protestant Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Evansville, Ind., and became a registered nurse in 1966.
Patty was united in marriage to the love of her life, Stanley, on Aug. 14, 1967, in Evansville, Ind. In 1973, Stanley and Patty moved from Indianapolis to Stanley’s hometown of Mazomanie, Wis., where they settled down and raised their two children, Jennifer and Michelle. Patty worked as a nurse for many, many years and enjoyed her co-workers, patients, and their families. She was an avid gardener and will always be remembered for her gorgeous flower beds and large garden. Patty grew up fishing at her father’s pond and, in later years, Lake Marion. It did not matter whether she was catching baby bluegills or nothing at all. When her children were growing up, they always knew they could sneak one of her frozen Snicker Bars, Patty’s favorite fishing snack.
Patty is survived by her daughter, Michelle Wallace-Frank of Mazomanie, Wis.; son-in-law, Tim Frank of Greybull, Wyo.; son-in-law, Steve Lanenberg of Hollendale, Wis.; a granddaughter, Megan Frank of Casper, Wyo., whom she was very proud of; a great-granddaughter, Bexley Ziehl of Casper, Wyo.; and significant other, Richard Handel of Black Earth, Wis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Jennifer; husband, Stanley; and brother, Daniel Horrall.
A private Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Bexley Ziehl Education Account c/o Peoples Community Bank, Mazomanie, Wis.
