Obituary
PINE BLUFF - Joyce H. Bollig went to her eternal home on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023. Joyce was born in Pine Bluff on Feb. 26, 1929, to Jacob and Mae (Engelberger) Kalscheur. She attended St. Mary’s of Pine Bluff grade school and graduated from Mount Horeb High School.
She married Raymond Bollig on Nov. 25, 1948. They farmed for many years, then they moved their family to Madison where Joyce worked for Cuna Mutual for many years until retirement.
Joyce loved to dance. She and Dad would cut a rug at different dance halls over the years spending many hours on the dance floor. She was also a sports enthusiast. She would watch Brewers baseball and Packers and Badgers football as she was an avid fan. As season ticket holders, she and Dad never missed a Badgers home game for years.
She is survived by her family: sons, Mike (Judy), Kerry (Bonnie), Dennis (Linda) and Reed (Janet); daughters, Jeanne Schroeder, Brenda Bollig (Mike Lemke) and Keli Bollig; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by brothers, Tom Kalscheur and Jip (Lucy) Kalscheur; sisters, Gwen (Bowar) O’Connor, Pidge Meffert and Kathy (Randy) Kneebone; sister-in-law, Katie Bollig; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; parents, Jake and Mae; sisters, Jeanne, Joane and Chub; sisters-in-law, Clarice Kalscheur, Teresa Ripp, Katie Kalscheur, Mary Haack, Beatie Bollig and Rhoda Bollig; brothers-in-law, Don Bowar, Mike Cunneen, Bob Sutter, Joe Meffert, Bob Bollig, Leonard Bollig, Walter Haack, Herb Bollig and Ed Bollig; father and mother-in-law, Fred and Clara Bollig; daughter-in-law, Linda Bollig; grandsons, Tyler Pagel and Grant Fitch; and great-grandsons, Joe Lenoir and William Shanks.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 5313 Flad Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023, with Father Scott Emerson presiding, followed by a luncheon at the church. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday. A private burial will take place at Sunset Memory Gardens.
