Mike was a great neighbor for 14 years and we talked a lot about sports (are you surprised). We covered all the main professional ones and even included high school sports. Both of us had sons named Brian who played in the old Badger high school conference. Mike also laughed at all my jokes. He was an easy guy to know!

Just learned of Mike's passing. So sorry to learn of this. My deepest condolences to Nancy, Brian and the rest of my dear cousins. I remember the day Mike was born. Mike always had a smile on his face. Love to all. Judy Karnes Peinado, first cousin of the Shaffer children.

Dear Nan and family, I was so sad to learn of Mike’s passing. He was such a lovely man. He was a high school classmate and I remember him so fondly. Nan, I know you did want to join this club of widows. It’s the most painful loss we can ever go through. Please know you will be in my thoughts and prayers everyday.
