Obituary

BLOOMINGTON- Betty J. Herbers, age 77, of Bloomington, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at Azura Memory Care. She was born on June 2, 1946, in Bagley, Wis., the daughter of Arnold L and Mildred (Kitto) Kress.

Betty graduated from Bloomington High School in 1964. She married Dennis Herbers on Sept. 13, 1964, in Bloomington. She served in food service for seven years.

Betty enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting and crocheting and many were blessed with one of her homemade creations. She also enjoyed reading and gardening.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Vicki Herbers, Susan Herbers and Laurie Herbers; son, Brian Herbers; grandchildren, Jacquelyn (Josh) Lindberg, Alysia Herbers, Jonathan Herbers and Hope Herbers; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Lindberg and Cole Lindberg; and sisters, Marian Kress and Judy Leimkuehler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; and six siblings.

No services will be held.

So sorry to hear about Betty. Just got email from Jamie. Stunned! Have good memories. Vacation’s we took together. The time Betty & I washed clothes while camping. Never had used front loading one. Too much soap. Bubble’s coming out of machine, across the floor & out the door. Husbands pretended they didn’t know us! I’m sure the girls can’t forget all the chickens we butchered together. Lots of good times together. She was always such good help with the quilt shows. So sorry we drifted apart with the years.
