CROSS PLAINS - Carolyn A. Hetzel, age 80, of Cross Plains, passed away on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, while recovering from surgery at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on Sept. 6, 1943, in Cross Plains, the daughter of Mathew and Lucina (Schroeder) Coyle.
Carolyn married her husband, Ralph “Pete” Hetzel, on Oct. 20, 1962, and was married for 55 years before his passing. She lived a full life and enjoyed her four grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Nadine (Warren) Westphal and Nancy Hetzel; her son, Mark (Ida) Hetzel; four grandchildren, Michael Westphal, Jodi (Kirk) Anderson, Brett Hetzel and Cole Hetzel; four great-grandchildren; and many friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her siblings, Mathew “Satch” (Marilyn) Coyle and Mary Lou (John) Studee.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, with Father Brian Dulli presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday.
