Obituary

MIDDLETON - Edward Joseph Pavelski passed away on Nov. 20, 2023, after a sudden illness. He was born on May 19, 1962, in Long Island, N.Y., to Paul and Betty Pavelski. Ed, as he was known by all, spent his youth in Grapevine, Texas along with younger brother Bill. He graduated from Grapevine High School and University of Texas, Austin where he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering.

In the 1990s Ed and his brother, Bill, formed a manufacturing company named CTC to produce biocontainment products for use across multiple industries. This successful Texas based venture is still active today with Bill Pavelski at the helm. For the last many years, Ed worked for Duluth Trading in Belleville, Wis.

Ed met Lisa Stageman in Fort Worth, Texas where they married in 2000. As their family grew, Ed and Lisa moved to Wisconsin, first settling in the Green Bay area, and later relocating near Madison, Wis. During his time in Wisconsin Ed became a dedicated Packers fan, Marlee’s favorite car pooler, Jake’s best hockey dad, a lover of Spotted Cow, and a not-so-good Euchre player.

He enjoyed many hobbies but never found anything better than an evening spent over a cold beer with family and friends. His children were at the center of Ed’s life. His chest swelled with pride watching Jake at hockey and football and seeing Marlee perform a cheer routine or produce an amazing drawing.

Ed was preceded in death by his father, Paul. He is survived by his mother, Betty; brother, Bill (Toni); wife, Lisa; son, Jake; daughter, Marlee; sister-in-law, Laura Kitzi (Matt); nephews, Garrett Smith and Boone Kitzi; and niece, Ava Kitzi.

Those who knew and loved Ed will remember him most for his amazing sense of humor and willingness to lend a hand to any in need. In honor of Ed’s extremely practical side, the family requests donations to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.

The family of Ed Pavelski wish to thank all who have shared gifts and, most especially, their love.

While I didn't know Ed long, he was an excellent employee and always strived to make everyone smile even on the worst days. He was a positive spirited person, who always knew how to fill up a room with joy and laughter. He was an excellent story teller, and better yet an amazing friend. My condolences go out to his family, Ed will be very missed. -Madison A. (Ed's previous supervisor at Duluth)

I remember that at Grapevine Middle School Eddie and I were matched to wrestle each other for PE or something. I don't recall wrestling anyone else from those days but for some reason remember how formidable an opponent Eddie was. Maybe "shocked" is a better word. Belated condolences to his family.
