Kristina was a beautiful, kind lovely human being. I was excited to toe the line at frequent mountain bike races and sit and chat about our experiences after the day. The women’s mountain bike community will not be the same without her. I will think of her always when I am out riding!

I will miss my friend and coauthor Kristina dearly. Here are some recent photos of us - when we found out our book would be translated into Japanese last November in Kansas City, with Dr. Marissa Nichols at N4A PDI, and a meal among friends with Drs. Nichols and McCauley in Orlando in June 2023.

Kristina's love for people and life was unconditional. She inspired and uplifted all that were lucky enough to know her. Her legacy will live on in my heart. Keep a chained lubed up because we will ride again my beloved bestie. I love you. Leia

So, so many memories. The most awesome roomie (despite the peanut butter-coated spoons from her morning oatmeal NEVER getting clean in the dishwasher), took me on my first ride at CamRock (fat bikes), my first 100+ mile road ride (Madison to Port Washington), cheered me on at my first Ironman, took care of me when I had mono, then a ruptured eardrum (my mom referred to her as my and my brother, Alex's, guardian angel), helped me through the hardest, worst times in my life, but she was also there to help me celebrate the highest highs. There will never, ever, ever be another, not even close. You will be with us in our hearts every day, Kristina and Karina. Love always, Emma and Baby Greta
