Marvin Harry Solomon

I'm so sorry for this loss to all of us. It's the end of an era. I worked with Marvin for 10 years in the CS department. We arrived at the same time, in 1976. Our first jointly-authored paper was in 1980; we had 20 joint works (counting conference papers and technical reports). We had our best ideas while taking long walks in Madison.

Marvin was my thesis advisor, longtime friend and co-worker and travel companion in grad school (we travelled to Greece and Marvin insisted on driving the tiny car we rented). Many fond memories of playing his piano at the many parties he held and also recall joking with Betsy and Carlin.
