Obituary
WATERTOWN- Robert William “Bob” Geier, age 84, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023, at UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison, Wis. He was born on Aug. 18, 1939, in Cashton, Wis., the son of Leonard and Estelle (Erickson) Geier.
Bob married Rose Marie Hass after high school and joined the U.S. Air Force where he served for five years. Robert and Rose were married for 25 years and had two children, Robert and Glori. He then spent the next 32 years working for AT&T in telecommunications. Bob was united in marriage to Sandra L. Schultz on June 20, 1987, and they were together until the time of Sandra’s passing on Feb. 12, 2018.
Bob was a loving and caring man. He loved giving and receiving hugs. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed listening to music, watching western movies and being involved in all activities with his special friend, Carol, and the rest of his friends at The Marquardt Village in Watertown, Wis.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Glori (Rick) Trummer; daughter-in-law, Jan Geier; five grandchildren, Taylor (Megan) Trummer, Justin (Kailynn) Trummer, Meghan (Alex) Wemple, Kayla (Dylan) Douglas, Lucas (Rosie) Geier; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Owen Trummer, Robbie, Cooper, and Olivia Wemple, Ella Douglas, and Holly Geier; brother, Richard Geier; sister, Carol Geier; brother-in-law Arvid Nilsestuen and special friend, Carol Nelson.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Dale Geier; parents, Leonard and Estelle; wife, Sandra Lee Geier; mother of his children, Rose Marie Hass; sisters, Linda Nilsestuen and Norma Geier; and grandson, Christopher Robert Geier.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Robert Geier’s name. The family wishes to thank the staff in the Department of Neurological Surgery at UW Hospital in Madison, Wis., for all their wonderful care and support given to Bob and his family.
