Obituary

MADISON - Mary Lynne Fell, age 73, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on Dec. 13, 1949, the daughter of Russell and Lorraine (Hales) Ashley.


Mary grew up in Hancock and graduated from Tri County High School in Plainfield. She attended UW Stevens Point and received associate degrees in Clothing and Textiles and Accounting from MATC in Madison. Mary was united in marriage to Andrew Fell on Nov. 15, 1980, at St. James Catholic Church. They made their home in Madison.


Mary worked in retail sales. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Madison City Quilters, Madison Area Iris Society and Wisconsin Daylily Society. She loved quilting, counted cross stitch and gardening, especially growing Daylilies and Irises. Mary and Andy loved taking vacations to national parks and visiting Mary’s family in Hancock and attending Daylily, Iris and quilting conventions. She cherished the companionship of her dogs, Curley and Buttons.  


Mary is survived by her husband of nearly 43 years, Andrew; and other dear relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Lorraine; and brother, Gale Ashley.


In keeping with Mary Lynne’s wishes cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life will take place at a later date.
