Nena, I’m so sorry for your loss. This was a shock for sure. Gary was just barely my age. Too young to go. Of course I will always remember him for the folks “birthday key caper” where Al’s car key almost ended up in Colorado! It was a very memorable and fun night. May you have many more good memories. My deepest sympathies to you. Take care. Lean on Mare. She’ll always be there for you.

Gary, you were a spark of vitality, fun, spirit, (and occasional small rebelliousness!) in our time working and playing together on Colorado Bar matters, hitting crazy golf shots, and hanging with our mutual friends. I am so glad we got the chance to reminisce and have big bear hugs at the CLE reception this year honoring you and your magnificent work and legacy. Nena and family, we send our condolences to you all for your loss. Gary was way too young to leave us all, but he left a lasting memory with us of commitment and fun. Fondly, Julie Waggener, Denver

Nena - I am so very sorry to hear of Gary's passing. Recalling the many years ago that I met Gary, I can say that he was one of the best parts (out of many best parts) of my "career" with the State Bar of Wisconsin. (You were too, by the way.) Now I'm really sorry that I missed seeing you two last summer in Eau Claire. Big hugs to you.

Nena, Nick and I are so very saddened to hear of Gary’s passing. He was so fun-loving and full of life. I was honored to be part of your marriage to this wonderful man. We adored staying at your home in Dillon - such a gorgeous setting. My heart is broken for you. Susan
