Obituary

MADISON - Vito S. LoCricchio, age 55, of Madison, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, at UW Hospital and Clinics. He was born on April 15, 1968, in Warren, Mich., the son of Vito M. and Sandra (Morris) LoCricchio.

Vito graduated from Fernley High School in Fernley, Nev., in 1987.  He married Anita Hanson on May 7, 1994, in Reno, Nev. Vito worked as an operations manager for WaltCo Inc. Prior to that he had been employed by UPS for 28 years.

Vito was an avid Detroit Lions fan for his entire life. He enjoyed watching old Westerns and classic TV shows, bowling, and listening to 80s music. He loved spending time with his family, traveling, and cruises, and will be remembered for having a sweet tooth and being a big kid.  He was loved and cherished by all who knew him.  Most of all, Vito loved his role of “pop pop.”

Vito is survived by his wife and best friend, Anita; sons, Noah (Rosa) LoCricchio and Brayden LoCricchio; grandchildren, Amarany Estrada and Adelinna LoCricchio; and sisters, Terri Fletcher, Pamela (Todd) Sylvester, Sandra (Luke) Spencer, and Patrina (Brad) Drum.  He is further survived by Anita’s family, whom he thought of as his own. He was “Favorite Uncle Vito” to countless nieces and nephews.  Vito was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law.

A celebration of life will be held at BOWL-A-VARD, 2121 E. Springs Drive, Madison, starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023.  A second celebration of life will be planned for a later date in Reno, Nev.

I miss you alot Vito, i throughly enjoyed talking to you every night on my way into work. You were the best boss I have ever had, and one of the most understanding people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. My thoughts go out to your family, and I hope your Lions win it all this year!

We will miss you Vito, growing up together before you moved to Reno as all the cousins would get together for holiday parties at Aunt Josie’s. Loved when Anita bought you tickets to the Lions game and we went out to dinner at Andiamo’s. Sending all our love to you Anita and your Son’s. Love, Steve & Beth Locricchio

I was recently hired by Vito. Great guy!! I didn’t get a lot of time face to face but we talked on the phone about how work was going and he was always checking up on me. Never have I had a boss that has done that. Thank you Vito.

Vito was a great guy, an awesome friend and an amazing boss. He could make anyone smile just by being his goofy self. His random singing, his jokes, and his personality still ring throughout the halls at work. Vito was the glue that made our work become a second family. He will be sorely missed. All our love and well wishes go to his family.
