Obituary

BLACK EARTH - Kim Anne Hansen, age 67, of Black Earth, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023, at her home. She was born on July 24, 1956, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Raymond Koenig and Lois (Granlund) Koenig.

Kim graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1974 and went on to study at MATC. She married Wolcott “Wally” Hansen on May 30, 1992, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison. Over the years she was employed as a secretary at Meier Truck, the Anaquest Corporation, and most recently at the Rayovac Corporation, from which she retired in 1995. She was also a former Sunday School teacher at Bethel Lutheran Church.

Kim enjoyed horses, watching football, skiing, and music. She was happiest spending time at home on the farm with her beloved Australian Shepherds.  She named the farm "Daybreak Valley," which proved to be a perfect description. Kim had a gift for writing, so when you received a card from her it always made you feel as though she understood exactly what you were feeling.

Kim is survived by her husband, Wally; mother, Lois; brother, Raymond T. Koenig; and sister, Karla R. Koenig. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond; and brother, Todd Koenig.

A private memorial service was held.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Dane County Humane Society in Kim's memory would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

I used to work with Kim at Anaquest and she was a secretary. She was always so sweet and friendly. We would often have lunch together at Alt n Bachs. She sure loved her animals and remembered her love of horses. Kim always managed to have a smile on her face even if the workplace got a little crazy. My prayers go out to her family she was a sweetheart! Thoughts and prayers, Toni Mickelson

I remember Kim as an incredibly warm and kind person. Her love of her Australian shepherds will always remain with me, as will the appreciation that she showed for everyone that cared for them at the clinic. With Deep Sympathy, Peter Janssen DVM
