Obituary

MADISON - Judith Ann “Judy” Bradley passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, with her loving daughter, Michelle, by her side. Michelle had spent many hours caring for her mom during her lengthy illness.

Judy was born on June 24, 1948, in Madison, Wis., to Lyle and Alice (Arneson) Voss. She grew up on Madison’s near East side and attended Lincoln grade school and Central High School. She moved to Denver to attend the Metropolitan State University of Denver to study speech pathology. Judy moved back to the Madison area in the early ‘70s.

Judy was a single mother, and she took great pride in being Michelle’s mom. She was an avid Packers and Badgers fan and she always looked forward to attending games with her family. She also enjoyed having fun football parties.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Michelle Bradley, and son-in-law, Robert Marty of Madison; brother, James; sisters, Jeanne, Jerilyn and Barbara (Allen); and her nieces and nephews, Lisa, Erik, Bill, Nicola, Heidi, Christine, Kelly, Tessa and Madeline; and many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Alice Voss; and her sister-in-law, Lois Voss.

Judy’s wishes were that there be a private family celebration.

Michelle would like to thank the staff and nurses at Capitol Lakes, McFarland Villa and Agrace HospiceCare for the wonderful care they gave Judy through the year.

Michelle and her mom had a special bond and Michelle was with her mom every day to give love and support throughout her illness. I know you will be watching over me, Mom. I love you.

Dear Cousin Judy, I will always remember with love the fun times we had when you visited Gramma Arneson's farm (I lived next door) and when I visited Madison (I was so impressed with your knowledge of the bus system!) I know you are with your parents now; they have their beautiful daughter with them again. Cousin Sandy Arneson

Michelle, I am so heartbroken to hear of your Mom’s passing. I worked with her at HyVee...she spoke so highly of you. Thank you for being there for her. She was a real sweetheart to me. I left suddenly, I called the store to let her know I left and the reason why, I was denied as she was busy. I had no way to keep in touch with her, she crossed my mind many times. I never shopped there again after I walked out. When you are ready would you please give me more details. I can be reached at 608-381-7954 or at Mom.of.law15@gmail.com. She became very special to me..I loved her laugh. Hope you are doing well. Paula
