VERONA - Timothy J. “Tim” Kennedy passed away on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023. He was born in Bethesda, Md., and spent his early childhood in Tampa, Fla. Tim grew up playing soccer, basketball and track. He moved with his parents to Verona, Wis., in middle school. He continued playing soccer in high school and with his club team. He graduated from Verona Area High School in 2007. He attended UW-Milwaukee and Madison College trying to find his passion.

While looking for his life’s purpose, he met his fiancée, Jordan. Together, they established a life together. They went camping, hiking, to music concerts, and loved to be in the outdoors. They traveled to Mexico, the Netherlands, Italy and Peru. Tim kept his love of soccer and was able to watch some of the World Cup games in an Italian café with his cousins. Besides Jordan, his greatest love and joy was his daughter. Tim found his purpose being a girl dad and trying to pass on his love of soccer to her. Tim looked forward to one day taking his daughter hiking in Jim Thorpe, Pa., and to Disney World, where he spent so many happy days. It was his kindness and joy of life which drew people to him.

Tim is survived by his parents, Marty and Mary Anne Kennedy; his fiancée, Jordan Ziegler; his daughter, Serah Helen; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and oh so many friends. He is preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal grandparents and an uncle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 602 Everglade Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 9, 2023. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Monday. The family requests that you do not wear black but, like Tim, wear something colorful and casual. Friends and family who wish to view the service via Live Stream may do so by visiting Tim’s obituary page at www.gundersonfh.com and clicking on the Watch Webcast link at the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, an education fund will be set up for Tim and Jordan’s daughter. If you would like to contribute, checks payable to Marty Kennedy may be sent to the family in care of Gunderson West Funeral and Cremation Care, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, WI 53562. Thanks bud for the 20+ years of friendship. Too many memories to choose. One of my favorite recent memories was when we left the girls behind on our hike (sorry Jordan and Sara) to race eachother up Machu Picchu, and met some Llamas at the top. We made some stupid jokes to one another as we always do and snapped this pic. I’ll always miss you and I’ll never stop being thankful for the friend you were to me. Rest easy TK.

This is from the night Tim won an award from FoodFight, for going above and beyond to do a good deed. When one of our beloved elderly customers had a bad reaction to a martini, Tim carried her on his arm and walked her home. He then stayed with her in the lobby of the assisted living to make sure she was okay, until a staff member could bring her into her home. He had a very kind heart and was a joy to work with over the years and have as a friend.
