Obituary

LAS VEGAS- Lyndon “Lindy” Jackson, 74, passed away peacefully in his home in Las Vegas, Nev., on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023. He was born on July 14, 1949, in Barron, Wis., the son of Jerome and Vivian (Bergeson) Jackson.


Lindy attended Barron High School and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Clarie, where he obtained a business degree. Lindy was an entrepreneur, spending several years in banking and later in real estate development.


Lindy was an avid Wisconsin Badgers fan and long-time ticket holder of UW basketball, hockey, and football. In his free time, he spent many hours golfing and enjoyed traveling, especially to any destination near the ocean. Lindy enjoyed playing blackjack, fine dining, and attending live performances. Lindy will long be remembered for his generous heart and his charismatic personality. He had an innate way of connecting with people and always could bring a smile to those he met.


Lyndon is survived by his siblings, Kenneth Jackson and Diane (Rod) Jorgenson; and nieces and nephews, Melissa (Joe) Kietzman, Mike (Laura) Jackson, David (Jenny) Jorgenson, Amy (Jeff) Nelson, Caleb (Kiara) Levar, Sam Levar, and Dan Levar. Lindy had deep friendships with several people in the Las Vegas and Madison areas who were like family to him. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, LaVonne Levar; and sister-in-law, Emily Jackson.


A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Wayside CemeterY in Barron, Wis., at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023.

Had several fun golf trips with Lindy. Also enjoyed playing golf in the Madison area. He did have a big smile. RIP Lindy.

Badger Bash, 19somthing, we were giving free cab rides home. We put Lindy in a cab to head home. Instead Lindy took a tour around Lake Monona and back to the Bash. Lindy was one of a kind. I believe "fun" was his middle name.
