Jan E Pilon

MADISON - Jan Elizabeth Pilon, age 48, of Madison, passed away on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on Aug. 26, 1975, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Marc and Geraldine (Brooks) Pilon.

Jan graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1994, and later graduated from the Art Institute of Dallas.

Jan was a free spirit artist and dreamed in color, always painting what she felt, not what something should look like. She saw things deeper than most, which made her artwork simple, but not necessarily easy. Her talent and ability for art far exceeded others that had tried before her. A “hippy at heart”, Jan was unapologetically herself, a night owl, and loved karaoke (especially her favorite song “Bobby McGee”), scary movies and Halloween.

Jan is survived by her sisters, Lori (Joe) Ernst, Cindy (John) Trevaskis, Rene “Soso” Pilon, Dawn (Mike) Ganzow and Leann (Mike) Graffin; twin sister, Jay (James Kilen) Glick; brother, Marc Pilon; several nieces and nephews, Brad (Mary) Trevaskis, Marcus Trevaskis, Jolene (Alex) Peterson, Jeremy Ernst (Michaela), Mikey Ganzow, Cole Graffin, Katie Pilon, and Caroline “Cici” Glick, whom she loved as one of her own. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marc and Geraldine Pilon; and nephews, Jason and Justin Ernst.

A graveside service will be held at NATURAL PATH SANCTUARY, 2299 Spring Rose Road, Verona, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023. A celebration of life will be held at POOLEY’S SPORTS BAR AND EVENT CENTER, 5441 High Crossing Blvd., Madison, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023.

The family would like to thank Agrace HospiceCare for their kindness, smiles and compassion.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made on Jan’s behalf in order to plant a Birch tree where she rests in a years’ time.
