Ronald H Foreyt

COTTAGE GROVE- Ronald H. Foreyt, age 92, passed away at The Gardens at RidgeStone in Elkhorn, Wis., on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023. He was born on Dec. 22, 1930, in Stitzer, Wis., the son of George and Gladys (Hicken) Foreyt.

Ronald, better known as Ron, left high school to work on the family farm with his father. Later he was a milk hauler for Madison Milk Producers where he met his loving wife, Carol. Ron then spent time at Darling & Company driving truck and ended his career as the owner and operator of London Lumber and Construction with his brother, Roland, and nephew, Jeff. Ron then returned to his passion, farming.  He grew corn and mint, and in earlier years raised cows and other livestock.

Ron enjoyed fishing in Canada, hunting in Colorado and Wyoming, playing euchre, and on occasion, drinking a Christian Brothers brandy.  He and his wife, Carol, also enjoyed their visits to the Wisconsin Dells casino.

Ron is survived by his daughter, Terri Frey (Dennis Laridaen); and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; infant daughter, Debra Lynn; sister-in-law, Joan (Lawrence) Hefty; parents, George and Gladys; and siblings, Viv (Dorothy) Foreyt, Roland (Earlene) Foreyt, Dorothy (Bill) Gratz, Delores (Paul) Kuntz, Gloria (Red) Abendroth, Lavon (Cletus) Hahn and Eleanor (Byron) Georgeson.

A visitation and celebration of Ron’s life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023.
