Obituary

MONONA - Kathleen M. Salverson, age 63, passed away at her residence in Monona, Wis., surrounded by her family, on Monday, Sept. 11, 2023. She was born on March 9, 1960, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Robert and Jean (Tholo) Heim.

Kathleen was an artist. She enjoyed watching news programs and cartoons. Kathleen enjoyed spending time with her family at home while doing word searches and enjoying spirits.

Kathleen is survived by many family members and friends, including her children, Tina and Jenna Salverson and Anna Moon; grandchildren, Mercedes, Niobe, Jasmine, Sierra, Alivia and Aramis; great-grandchild, Braelin; and sisters and brothers, Wendy and Raul Trevino, Betty and Pat Emmons, Ken and Phyllis Salverson, Gordon Salverson, Pam and Randy Clauer, Diane Allen, Debbie and Abundio Aguilar, Jackie and Paul Parisi, Craig Adams and Kane McGraw.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Salverson; parents, Robert and Jean; great-granddaughter, Aaliyah; and siblings, Steve Heim, Mabel Heim, Katherine (Annie) McGraw, Wanda Adams, Joseph (Jo) Heim, and Gary and Betty Salverson.

Kathleen was called mom by many. We will miss her free spirit and sarcasm, colored pictures on the fridge, obscenely loud rock music and the smell of something cooking in the kitchen.

A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12 noon on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.

I met Kathy many years ago while picking Anna up to go somewhere, I don’t even remember where. But, I do remember meeting Kathy, Anna’s Mom! She was such a special lady. Someone you couldn’t forget. She was spunky, a bit of a spitfire & I just felt completely comfortable with her from the 1st time meeting her. She was so kind to me and always sweet & reminded me a lot of my own Mom. I’m going to miss hearing all the new stories & listening to the fun the “girls” had together. Anna & her Mom, Kathy were almost inseparable. They were together a lot. Especially the last 10 or so years. Rest in Peace my dearest Kathy. You will be forever missed & loved. With Deepest Condolences, Bonnie Carstens
