DEERFIELD - Nicole “Nikki” Pierce, age 39, of Deerfield, passed away on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023. She was born on Sept. 23, 1983, in Long Beach, Calif., the daughter of Carol and Rick Bates. She graduated from Marshall High School in 2002.
Nicole was a loving and caring person. She will be fondly remembered for her contagious laughter and joking nature. Nicole enjoyed watching movies-usually comedies, putting puzzles together, and was a lover of all animals. She especially loved spending time with her niece and nephews.
Nicole is survived by her parents, Carol and Rick; sisters, Lisa (Ben) Krebs and Charlee (Travis) Shilts; brother, Ryan Bates; nephews, Kaiden Bates and Grayson Krebs; niece, Haddie Shilts; grandmother, Sharon (Robert) Pyles; and her beloved cat, Cuddles. She is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Richard Stacy and Charles Bates; and grandmother, Mary Bates.
Nicole’s family will be holding a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Humane Society of Jefferson County would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
