Obituary
MADISON - Casey M. Reeve, age 39, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 2, 2023. She was born on Oct. 21, 1983, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. Casey was raised by her mother, Kay E. (Johnson) Coleman and stepfather, David W. Coleman, along with her father, Evert W. Reeve Jr.
Casey graduated from MATC with her HSED in 2001. She continued her education and graduated as a Certified Paraoptometric Technician in 2009. Casey started at Bonsett - Veal Vision Source, kickstarting a number of years in that career. On Nov. 12, 2000, Casey and David M. McKercher celebrated the birth of their son, Caleb Ryan Reeve. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially with her son, nieces and nephews.
Casey is survived by her son, Caleb Reeve: father, Evert Reeve; stepfather, David Coleman; siblings, Carey (Reeve) Elwood and Joshua (Shaunna) Coleman; step siblings, Kendall Reeve, Ryan (Shelia) Coleman, Justin (Shelby) Coleman and Cody Coleman; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and her close friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Kay Coleman, who she missed dearly; paternal grandparents, Evert and Lois Reeve; step grandparents, Daniel and Jeanine Coleman; future brother-in-law, Michael Crotty; aunt, Rochelle (Shelly) Johnson; cousin, Daniel LaSavage; and many other guardian angels that await her.
A memorial gathering will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St. Oregon, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023.
The heartache, illness and addiction that had stolen Casey’s sparkle took her life. Her family and friends will remember her for the beautiful, funny, smart and sunny beacon of light that she was. We take comfort in knowing that Casey is surrounded by light, free from the struggle that haunted her, and we would have given anything for her to experience that freedom in this lifetime. Our grief over losing her is infinite. And now so is she. We love you!
