Lyle Heller

Oregon - Lyle Willard Heller, age 83, of Oregon, passed away on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, at his home. He was born on Feb. 23, 1940, in Janesville, Wis., the son of Willard and Norma (Kitchen) Heller.

Lyle graduated from UW-Whitewater with a bachelor’s degree in Math and Physics, and then went on to earn his MBA from Marquette University. He married Ruth (Pestor) Heller on March 21, 1964, at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Janesville.

Lyle was an Eagle Scout who worked on several projects in Janesville. He also served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves. Lyle enjoyed a long career working as an executive Vice President for CUNA, and as a lecturer at UW-Whitewater, teaching Quantitative Decision Making and Mathematics to MBA students. He worked for Compuware, doing strategic planning for major cities. Later he was the owner and operator of Jobsight USA for 20 years. His name is on the patent on the TYME machine for the State of Wisconsin.

Lyle was a member of High Point Church for over 30 years. In his free time, he enjoyed flying planes and was a commercially licensed pilot. He also liked boating, woodworking, and building model airplanes. Lyle and Ruth attended their grandkids’ activities anywhere in the US.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Ruth; sons, Christopher (Lisa) Heller and Nathan (Tara) Heller; grandchildren, Kayla (Ryan) Ball, and Jace, Jaron, James and Jack Heller; great-grandchildren, Lexi and Lucas Ball; brothers, David (Audrey) Heller, James (Joanna) Heller and Jeffry (Kim) Heller; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at Gunderson Oregon Funeral and Cremation Care, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023, with Pastor Nicola "Nic" Gibson presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
