Thomas Brudos

Summerville, SC. - Thomas Brudos, age 58, of Summerville, S.C., passed away peacefully after a short illness on Monday, June 19, 2023, with his beloved wife Janet at his side. He was born in Madison, Wis., on July 7, 1964, the son of Adrian and Patricia Brudos.

Tom graduated from James Madison Memorial H.S. in 1983. Over the years Tom worked for several different organizations building many lifelong friendships: Chi-Chi’s Mexican Restaurante, Division Supervisor at PDQ, Area Field Manager at U-Haul Equipment, Technician at Community Coffee and SHEP Division at South Carolina Department of Transportation.

Tom began the second chapter of his life when he married the love of his life, Janet, his Sweet Pea on Nov. 16, 2012. They ultimately followed their dreams and moved to South Carolina to be closer to the ocean. Tom loved his daughters, Katie and Anna, his dogs, Buddy and Irma, life, cooking, barbecuing and spending quality time with family and friends. Tom and Jan adopted two rescue dogs, Buddy and Irma. Buddy, who passed away recently came from a dog sanctuary and Irma is from Puerta Rico, a casualty of Hurricane Irma.

Tom is survived by his wife, Janet Brudos; children, Katie Brudos, Summerville, S.C., and Anna (Angie) Hall, New Mexico; stepchildren, David O’Connor and Nicole O’Connor (Kayla Maria); father and stepmother; Adrian and Dana Brudos, Verona, Wis.; brothers, Russell (Laura) Brudos, Monona, Wis., Billy (Denise) Brudos, Madison, Wis., and Donald (Angela) Brudos, Cape Coral, Fla.; brothers-in-law, Kurt Vorndran (Martin Murray) and Jim (Kathy) Vorndran; former wife, Lisa Benz, Phoenix, Ariz.; and his Sweet Pea #2, Wanda Yager (Jan’s Cousin). He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Brudos; brother, Mark Brudos; in-laws, LaVon and Dick Vorndran; niece, Shannon Brudos; and brother-in-law, Jeff Vorndran.

A special thank you to the SICU doctors and nurses at Roper Saint Francis Hospital, Charleston, S.C., for their dedicated and loving care of Tom.

A visitation will be held at Gunderson EAST Funeral and Cremation Care, 5203 Monona Drive Madison, Wis., from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Friday, Aug. 25, 2023. A luncheon will follow. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park at 2 p.m. on Friday.
