Lucy Rose Harris

MAZOMANIE - Lucy Rose Harris, age 66, of Mazomanie, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at home. She was born on Aug. 12, 1956, in Madison, the daughter of Wendelin and Loretta (Koch) Maier.

Lucy graduated from Wisconsin Heights High School in 1975. She was united in marriage to David Harris on Sept. 13, 1997, at St. Francis Xavier Parish in Cross Plains.

Lucy worked as a newspaper organizer for Times-Tribune, retiring in 2018. She was a very proud mother to Amanda. She loved taking walks and visiting relatives and attending family gatherings.

Lucy is survived by her husband, David; daughter, Amanda Harris; father, Wendelin; and siblings, Larry (Pat) Maier, Paul (Elsie) Maier, Janet (Eric) Gullickson, Tony (Judy) Maier, Sharon (Tom) Linley and Vern Maier. She was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta.

A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023, with Father Scott Jablonski presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Saturday. A private burial will take place at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery.
