I only met Orv a few times, but I feel like I knew him through Pat. He was delightful and good humored, and I'll always remember how thoughtful he was to bring pizza to Pat & me while we were recovering from knee surgery.

I'm very sad to hear of Orv's passing. Orv was one of the greatest mentors and friend to me in my early adult life. I learned SO much from him, both career related and personally, that have stuck with me throughout all these years. While I was his apprentice, he would never hesitate to take the time to thoroughly explain how things worked, whether it was machining/ building with him, or front porch star-gazing. We did spend a good amount of quality together time in those years. I will always remember those times with him and hold him very close to my heart.

I knew Uncle Orv before becoming part of the family. I was able to reminisce with Orv and Pat last year. Back in 1964, in Joliet, Orv lived 2 houses away from my family. I told him I would see him back his BIG Indian motorcycle out of his garage, to ride. When I was added to the family, I got to know him as a generous and jovial guy. Our prayers are with Aunt Pat and family. Love, Bill Griffin and family
