I never met you. But many years ago I listened to your records, and delighted in your wit and charm. I still listen to your records - and they make me smile. Thank you. I never met you, but I miss you so much. Your friend in England, Neil.

I had the pleasure of seeing Biff playing piano, just for fun, multiple times in a bar in Göttingen while I did a year abroad at the university in 83/84. He put a smile on my face.

I taught organic chemistry for many years. For the class after an exam I would give a “special topics” lecture, one of which was about chemical evolution. At the end of that lecture I recited Paradise Almost Lost. I am sad I never got to hear Biff in person. I was/ am a big fan.

Biff spent a week with me in 2002 in Virginia. He was a hectic and challenging guest. We had a great time. He purchased a pirate hat at World of Mirth and played at Plan 9 Records.

As a teenager living in New Jersey, and passionate about folk music, I made my way to The Bitter End in Greenwich Village to see Tom Paxton. Bif was the opening act. I bought his first vinyl record, which I still have. He gave me a memory I remember to this day. Godspeed Bif
