Obituary
MADISON - Suzanne Pyle, age 90, of Madison, passed away on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, at St. Mary's Care Center. She was born on June 26, 1934, in Lewisburg, W.Va., the daughter of Samuel and Freda (Maynard) Combs.
Suzanne graduated from Lewisburg High School in 1952. She later attended Hollins College, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 1956. She moved to Waupun, Wis., in 1964 before settling in Madison in 1970.
Suzanne worked as a chemist for the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene, retiring in 1995.
She was a former active member of Bashford United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. Suzanne enjoyed collecting antiques, playing the piano, and caring for her pets, including three cats. She cherished her plants, especially African violets, and loved playing cards, including bridge, poker and euchre.
Suzanne is survived by her son, Mark (Jenny) Pyle; grandchildren, Madeline Pyle, Griffin (Meaghan O'Hara) Pyle, and Mason Pyle; and sister, Dr. Mary Lou Bram-Stockard. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Stanley Combs.
Suzanne will be laid to rest at a private service at Calvary Methodist Church near Lewisburg, W.Va.
