Gertrude A Thiel

Don and family, Gert was a darling friend to all she met. From young to old, Gert wanted to get to know everyone. She had a curious mind and heart of gold. While my memories made with Gert were later in her life, they never lacked importance, meaning, and purpose. Gert made coming to work exciting and meaningful. She knew how to cheer you up with her beautiful smile and twinkling eyes. Never shy, never without advice, Gert made sure everyone felt seen and heard. I am sure these traits were the cornerstones of her success when teaching and forming lasting friendships throughout her life. Condolences to Miss Thiel's family and friends. Miss Thiel was my second grade teacher at Thoreau. I remember her looking exactly like she did in the photo.
