Obituary

MADISON - Kristi Lynn Tormey, age 66, of Madison, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023, at her home in Madison. She was born on Oct. 13, 1956, in Madison, the daughter of Virgil and Ruth (Kunz) Titus.


Kristi graduated from Memorial High School in 1974. She married Brian Tormey in Madison on April 1, 1989.


Kristi enjoyed gardening, especially orchids and African violets. She made porcelain dolls. Kristi loved the outdoors and liked to go fishing.


Kristi is survived by her husband, Brian Tormey; brother, Larry (Katherine) Titus; nephew, Scott Titus; niece, Heather Titus; two grandnieces and a grandnephew; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Peter Titus.

Brian I am sooo sorry! I remember all the great times we had together fishing, hunting morels & asparagus. She was a great cook and gardener too. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. Cyndy

I went to Orchard Ridge Elementary School with Kristi. I recall her long braids and that she was excellent at archery. One summer, we shared a tent with another girl at a Girl Scout Camp. We were convinced there was a black widow spider nesting near the tent pole. It rained the whole week. Kristi never complained. Kristi was quiet and kind. I liked her. I am sorry to read of her death. I hope she had a wonderful life. Inga Brynildson Hagge

It's funny how people come into our lives. We know them only scarcely but on another level you feel a connection with them. Kristi's dad serviced our watches when I was young, and I even bought one from him. I would see Kristi at their house when I'd go see him. Later I would see her at school and we'd exchange smiles or even a hello. I may never have actually said anything more to her than that, but we tended to swing in the same circles so we'd see each other from time to time and I always felt as though we shared a special connection because we knew each other from outside of the school environment. I always just liked her. And I never knew we were both Libras! I am very sad to hear that she has passed. My condolences to her family.
