James "Jim" Lewallen

We enjoyed Jim’s company on Christmas Eve together at Jeff & Martha’s house for several years. Such a pleasant & kind hearted man. We will miss him but keep his spirit alive in our memories. Mike & Darlene VanBendegom

Jim was such an awesome neighbor that we enjoyed sitting in the yard chatting with while all the neighborhood kiddos played together. He said watching our kiddos grow reminded him of his happy years being a husband, dad, grandad, and coach. I could tell he truly lived a life full of love and happiness by all his funny and heartfelt stories. I'm hoping all the happy memories pop up frequently for your family as well. Big hugs and prayers for you all.

I didn’t see Coach very often after I graduated from high school, went to college and spent my adult life in the Marines and then an AD at an east coast Catholic high school, but I never forgot him. During hard physical challenges in the Marines, I thought of him encouraging me in practice and matches. As AD, I encouraged coaches to adopt his demeanor and style. I will always remember him. He made a difference in my life and many others, I have no doubt. I want his son and daughter to know how much their parents did for all of us those many years ago. The world is a better place because they were in it. I am sorry for Coach’s passing but my faith tells me he is with Donna in eternal happiness. I hope there is consolation in that. Be assured of my prayers for Coach and all his family and friends who mourn the loss of this good man. Bill Simmons WHS Class of 1972
