MOUNT HOREB - Anita N. Persson, age 93, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at VitaCare Living of Mount Horeb. She was born on August 9, 1932, in Karlskrona, Sweden, the daughter of Tancred Petersson and Margaret Hakansson.
Anita met Bertil Persson in Stockholm, Sweden. She immigrated to the United States in 1955 to be united in marriage to Bertil and begin their life story together. They moved to Chicago and welcomed their two amazing daughters. Anita worked as an executive assistant at Barr Company for 29 years, retiring in 1999. Anita cherished her time with her family and enjoyed raising her children.
Anita was a skilled artist and her passion for creativity shone through her artistic creations. Anita was generous with her time and talents and was known for her thoughtfulness and kindness.
Anita is survived by her daughters, Cecilia Persson and Lisa (Tim) Santoirre; grandchildren, Nickolas, Evelyn and Ian; and grand dog, Gusse. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bertil Persson; and parents, Margaret Håkansson and Tancred Petersson.
A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO MOUNT HOREB FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 500 N. 8th St., Mount Horeb, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2025.
